Celebrating Our British Values Together!

Our whole school assembly today began with some clues. We listened to the song “Wonderwall” by Oasis; we had Union Flags to wave and looked at some photographs of Roast Dinners and Afternoon Teas. So what was our theme today? Celebrating British Values!

Together, we explored key parts of British Values that make our country so special; such as Liberty and the Rule of law. We then focused on Values that are important within both our school lives and in the wider world.

We had a great time exploring Democracy by voting together as a school, we voted on giving our friends chocolate treats or fruit and by asking them to complete a set of sit-ups or star-jumps! This was a comical way to illustrate the power of Democracy on a smaller scale.

To end our assembly we spoke about perhaps the most important part of British Values in our lives now and in the future. Tolerance and acceptance, no matter what our differences are, we are accepting and caring of all!
