Chocolate Maths in Year 6

Year 6 have worked extremely hard this week on their first unit of fractions. We have been adding and subtracting mixed numbers, converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and finding the common denominator.

They can also confidently find fractions of amounts. To demonstrate this knowledge, they were given chocolate!

They successfully found 1/2, 1/4 and 1/3 of a given amount and naturally, the chocolate was devoured during and after the lesson.
