Rocket Crafting

Yesterday afternoon, the children in Ducklings' Class were thrilled to welcome their grown-ups for a fun-filled rocket-making session. Together, children and adults followed step-by-step instructions from a visual task board, which included helpful picture symbols to support understanding. The room was full of excitement as everyone worked together to design and build their own rockets.

This creative activity was not only enjoyable but also a wonderful opportunity to focus on speaking and listening skills, which are key foundations for children’s early communication development. The local Speech and Language Team joined us to chat with parents about the importance of encouraging children’s communication from an early age.

Activities like this help children practise expressing themselves, following instructions and working collaboratively, all while having fun. Building strong communication skills early on gives children the confidence to share their ideas, ask questions and engage fully in their learning.

Thank you to all the grown-ups who came along and joined in the fun. The children did an amazing job creating their fantastic rockets, we are so proud of their hard work and creativity.
