Year 6 Eye-Catching Packaging

This term, Year 6 have been busy designing and creating their own food packaging. This project allowed the children to explore the close connection between drawing and making within the creative process, and exploring how a two-dimensional surface can be transformed and manipulated to create a three-dimensional object. Students learned to use elements such as line, mark making, value, shape, colour, pattern, and composition to bring their artwork to life. Finally, they recognised the challenge of translating two-dimensional ideas into three-dimensional forms and addressed it through a thoughtful combination of invention and logic.

Through this project, pupils developed both their artistic and problem-solving skills, producing imaginative and carefully constructed packaging designs. I am sure you will be as impressed with their final packaging as I was. Well done Year 6!
