‘Where the Wild Things Are’ Puppets
Last term, Year 1 combined our DT and literacy learning by creating our own ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ puppets. Before making our puppets, the children designed their characters, thinking carefully about the features they wanted to include and the materials they would need. They then used their designs to create colourful and imaginative Wild Things, with every puppet being unique.

Reading Buddies at Glendale
During this term, more children have been chosen to go to Glendale to read and chat with our Reading Buddies. Both children and adults enjoy the experience. Not all children have the chance to interact with such a different generation, so this is a great opportunity to mix and learn from each other. We are grateful for all the time the Buddies give up to be with us.

The rest of the class supported their classmates and it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Well done Year 6- you are amazing!

World Book Day
Ducklings and their Year 5 buddies enjoyed a special early morning trip to Waterstones to exchange their book vouchers for a brand new book. There were so many wonderful titles to choose from, and it was delightful listening to the conversations about books as the Year 5s helped their Duckling buddies choose something they would really enjoy. It was also lovely to hear so many children speaking politely with the staff members, remembering their “please” and “thank you” as the
