On the 8th May 1945 Winston Churchill said to the British Nation "This is your victory" as he announced the end of the Second World War; meaning that freedom and peace were here at last after years of fear and horror. As a whole school, we came together to celebrate and remember such a momentous day - VE Day. We celebrated the day with a whole school walk wearing a very British red, white and blue and waving our nation's flags as we paraded up the Leas. Together, we held a two minute silence to remember and reflect upon the importance of the day. After this, we stopped for a well-deserved picnic and play. What a wonderful day to be a very proud citizen of both Britain and St Eanswythe's Primary School.
