On Tuesday 29th April, the school had a special visitor. Bishop Rose came to
meet, have lunch with, Baptise, and confirm thirteen children. It was a very special time for those children, who had worked hard during their preparation sessions. The service was truly a school affair, with KS2 attending. We also had one child from St Mary's School with their Headteacher and four children from St Peter’s School, they were supported by most of their school coming along and enjoying the service with us.
There were many family members, who came and joined in the celebrations.
Seven children from our Years 5/6 helped make the service run smoothly by taking on the role of servers and bringing up the offertory (bread and wine) to the altar for communion. Yr 5 children lead the singing of a chant during communion and they sung in French for us.
We are very lucky, as a school, to have such a close relationship with the Canterbury Diocese and especially Bishop Rose, who visits us each year and, as she says, really looks forward to being part of our school for the day.
