Easter Service 2026

On the final day of term, our school community came together for a very special Easter service at St Eanswythe's Church.

Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy preparing songs, poems, artwork and readings to help retell the Easter story. It was a truly collaborative celebration, with every class contributing something unique and meaningful.

The service began with a joyful reflection on Palm Sunday, with Ducklings waving palm leaves and singing, setting the scene for the events of Holy Week. Across the church, beautiful examples of the children’s learning were shared, including thoughtful collages of the Garden of Gethsemane, watercolour paintings of the Last Supper, stunning pastel artwork depicting the tomb where Jesus was laid, and vibrant stained glass crosses symbolising the crucifixion and hope of the resurrection. Some classes also created decorated shoebox gardens, representing the Easter story in a creative and reflective way, alongside a whole-class poem celebrating the meaning of Easter.

We were also incredibly proud of our pupils who shared their musical talents, with piano performances, solo singing and small group contributions adding to the atmosphere of the service. Our worship leaders confidently guided us through the service, sharing readings and leading prayers with maturity and reverence.

As a Church of England school, marking key events in the Christian calendar is an important part of our school life. Celebrating Easter together helps the children to understand its significance as a time of hope, renewal and new life. It also provides an opportunity for reflection, community and shared worship, strengthening the values that underpin our school.

It was a beautiful and memorable way to end the term, and we would like to thank all the parents, families and friends who joined us to celebrate.
