Baubles - KS1 Christmas Play 2025
Last week, the Year 1 and Year 2 children did a fantastic job performing their nativity, Baubles. The story followed a group of school children who discovered baubles on a Christmas tree at their school. Each bauble told a different part of the Nativity story - from angel Gabriel visiting Mary to the birth of baby Jesus and the visit of the shepherds and wise men. The children sang beautifully, spoke clearly and showed great confidence on stage. Their hard work in rehearsals

Year One Beach School
Year 1 had a lovely time at Beach School last week whilst the winter sun was shining. The children explored the beach and discovered crabs hiding under rocks. They worked together to make crab hotels using stones, shells and seaweed, thinking carefully about how to keep the crabs safe and comfortable. Some children also enjoyed writing their phonic sounds in the sand, practising their learning in a fun outdoor way. It was a fun and exciting morning of outdoor learning by the

Ducklings Exploring Winter
This week in Ducklings we continued our exploration of winter and began our Christmas festivities. We started with our Nativity performance, where the children have been practising their lines and songs to retell the story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. This gave them plenty of opportunities to build confidence, practise speaking and listening and enjoy performing together. In the classroom, the children took part in Santa beard trimming, frozen musical statues and lots

Vegetable Soup
Last week, as part of our preparations for making our own delicious soup, the children had the opportunity to taste an example. They began by looking closely at the soup and smelling it, talking about what they noticed. If they felt happy and confident, they were then invited to taste it. We were so proud of how brave many of the children were, especially those who weren’t sure if they would like it. Only a few chose not to taste, and lots of the children even went back for m

Seasonal Change
In Ducklings class, we have been learning all about the seasonal changes as we move from autumn into winter. The children have enjoyed talking about how the weather is getting colder and why we need to wrap up in hats, scarves and gloves. We also discussed the darker mornings and evenings and shared some of the fun things we like to do during the winter months. The children have been busy with lots of hands-on activities. They practised their fine motor skills by cutting out

Pompeii Exhibition
Year 3 and 4 were lucky enough to go to London to visit the 'Last Days of Pompeii' exhibition. The children got to experience a 360-degree digital show, including a seated VR adventure where they entered the coliseum and witnessed a gladiator fight, as well as explored the legendary Villa of Mysteries. All the children had a great time!

Owls Beach School
Owls Class finally had their long-awaited Beach School session this Wednesday, after our original date had to be cancelled thanks to the November cold and rain. This week, luckily the weather gave us a break. It was bright, sunny and crisp, perfect Beach School weather (as long as you’ve got a warm coat and wellies!). Wrapped up, we headed down the Old High Street towards the pebble beach near the Harbour Arm. Our base for the afternoon was the colourful structure created for

Christmas Fair
This year's Christmas fair has been a huge success. A massive thank you to all those behind the scenes and on the day making sure all went to plan. How fabulous it was to see so many young entrepreneurs selling their wares and earning some well-earned pennies. Congratulations to all involved.
