Family Trees for you and me!
Year One class had a wonderful time exploring Family Trees in PSHE last week. We began by looking at examples of family trees from the past and learnt about the word generation and what it means. The children then had the chance to create their own family trees on whiteboards, each one unique and personal. Although every tree looked different, they were all filled with love and helped us celebrate the special people who make up our families.

Birthdays
This week in Ducklings, we have been learning all about birthdays. The children thoroughly enjoyed this theme, especially as our classroom was enhanced with birthday-themed resources such as balloons, birthday cards, party invitations, wrapping paper, birthday hats and party plates and cups. The Gingerbread Man
In Ducklings we have been learning all about the story 'The Gingerbread Man'. We were first introduced to the tale when a sneaky gingerbread man came to visit our classroom and left us clues to find. Using our school’s Talk for Writing approach, we learnt the story and used actions to help us remember the order of events. As our confidence grew, we began to innovate the story by changing the animals the Gingerbread Man met along his journey. We have been busy drawing story ma

Road Safety Years 3 and 4
On Wednesday we had a visit from Ian at Kent Road Safety, who came in to remind us about how important it is to keep ourselves safe when crossing the roads. We talked about how we really need to be extra vigilant nowadays as many of the cars are electric and silent! We also found out that pelican crossings are all going to be changed to puffin crossings here in our region. Always find a safe place to cross, stop, look, listen and hold an adults hand when crossing. Even better

Friendship Ties!
In Year Six this week, we have been exploring the importance of friendships and healthy relationships. We thought carefully about what makes a good friend and how we can support and care for one another. We used actual string as a visual representation to show the positive friendship links between us all, helping us see how everyone is connected through kindness and support. The strings certainly helped us to 'tie up' our knowledge in a fun and creative way!

The Wise and Foolish Builders
This week in RE, Year 6 have thought carefully about some of the stories in the gospels and the important meanings behind them. We looked at the parable of the wise and foolish builders. This text explains how the foolish builder, built his house on sand, taking the easy and quickest route and the wise builder, built his house on a strong and sturdy rock with strong and solid foundations. The children then thought about the meaning behind this parable and applied it to their
