English Competition Winners!
Today, our Year 6 class represented us in an English competition against some other local schools and we won! The children impressed the judges not only with some stunning fluent reading but their outstanding spelling of rehearsed and unseen words. The rest of the class supported their classmates and it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Well done Year 6- you are amazing!

The Ancient Egyptians
Last week our history lesson was all about mummification and what they used to do when a Pharoah died. We learnt all kinds of fairly gruesome things! But very interesting that they were treated with the utmost care and attention to detail. Some of their organs were stored in canopic jars and were placed in the tomb. There are four jars: Hapi protects the lungs, Imesty guards the liver, Duamatef protects the stomach and Qebehsenuf protects the intestines ready to enter the aft

Little Heroes to the Rescue!
In PSHE this term our Key Stage One classrooms have been full of little heroes learning big life skills! Some children pretended to be helpers, some were callers and some were the emergency services. We

Astor Dance Performance
Today twenty children from James’ Dance Club went to Astor School in Dover to participate in a multi school dance festival. Every one of our girls performed confidently with great stage presence. Thank you to all the parents for providing costumes and for offering help with transport. The children behaved extremely well and were a credit to the school. They should all be very proud of themselves. Thanks James for all your hard work.

WBD Hat Competition

The entries showed fantastic effort from the children, with each one designing a unique hat inspired by a favourite story or book character. Today we announced the winners and took time during our celebration worship to recognise and celebrate every single hat. The display was truly breath-

World Book Day
Ducklings and their Year 5 buddies enjoyed a special early morning trip to Waterstones to exchange their book vouchers for a brand new book. There were so many wonderful titles to choose from, and it was delightful listening to the conversations about books as the Year 5s helped their Duckling buddies choose something they would really enjoy. It was also lovely to hear so many children speaking politely with the staff members, remembering their “please” and “thank you” as the
